Scottish Gaelic Motto: ’S Rioghal mo dhream
Motto Translation: Royal is my race.
The ancestral tongue was Scottish Gaelic, which is a Celtic Indo-European language.
Scottish clans traditionally wore a particular plant as emblematic of their clan. For the Gregor Clan it is Scots Pine, though the closest relative native to Ontario would be Eastern White Pine, and closest delicious relative we can grow here is Korean Nut Pine.
Early 9th Century: King Alpin II is believed to have reigned during this period, around the early 800s. He is often credited with being a king of the Scots and Picts, playing a crucial role in the formation of the early Scottish kingdom. However, historical records from this era are sparse and not entirely clear.
Late 14th Century: The Clan Gregor claims descent from Gregor of the golden bridles, and their ancestry is traced back to the ancient Scottish kings, particularly King Alpin, who reigned in the early 9th century.
1390: The first officially recorded Chief of Clan Gregor appears around this time, Iain Camm One Eye, establishing the clan’s presence in the Scottish Highlands.
1493: The Lordship of the Isles, of which the MacGregors were a part, was forfeited to the Scottish Crown, leading to increased tensions and conflicts with neighboring clans and the Scottish government.
1560s-1570s: The Clan Gregor, now numerous and powerful, engages in feuds with neighboring clans, notably the Colquhouns, Campbells, and MacNabs.
1603: After the Battle of Glen Fruin against the Colquhouns in 1603, King James VI of Scotland proscribes the name MacGregor, forcing members of the clan to renounce their surname or face death. This edict was part of a wider effort to pacify the Highlands. To avoid death many changed names to ones such as Greig, King, Gregorson or took on names of neighbouring clans like Grant, Murray, Drummond, Stewart and White.
1625: The proscription of the clan was temporarily lifted under King Charles I but was reinstated after the MacGregors supported the royalist cause during the Civil Wars.
Migration: With the Highland Clearances and economic changes in Scotland during the 18th and 19th centuries, many Scots, including those with the Greig surname, emigrated to other parts of the world, such as North America, Australia, and New Zealand.
1774: The proscription against the MacGregor name was finally lifted, allowing the clan members to legally use their name again.
1775: The clan was officially recognized, and the chief was allowed to assume the MacGregor surname once more.
1822: Sir Walter Scott’s visit of King George IV to Scotland, where members of Clan Gregor participated prominently, helped to restore the dignity and pride of the clan.
While the Y-DNA is only between 2-0.2% of your genome, it is also everything that makes you male. The Greig family has been identified as having the Y-DNA haplogroup of R1b or more specifically R-A13318 1
Within the last 1,500 years or at around 500CE, you share a paternal relative with people who now have patrilineal names including: Milne, McIntyre, Hadden, MacFarlane, MacKinley of the British Isles, Smed, Turner of Denmark, and Griffin of Italy, and Walker, Cowan of the USA.2 Milne you may have had a common ancestor within the last millenia.
During the Iron age the people, known as the Picts in what would become Scotland, lived in small, fortified settlements or hillforts. Agriculture was well-established, with communities growing cereals and keeping livestock. The diet was supplemented by hunting, fishing, and gathering.
Within the last 4,800 years or at around 2,800 BCE your paternal ancestors lived in Western Continental Europe and where they branched off from (R-U106) what is now the House of Bourbon that were the kings of France, and the House of Wettin who have been kings of UK, Belgium, Sweden, Poland, Bulgaria, Portugal, and Saxony.
Within the last 25,000 years your paternal ancestors lived in the Caucauses (Georgia/Armenia) where they branched off from most South West Europeans (R1b) and Eastern Europeans (R1a) such as the Yamnaya culture that brought Indo-European languages to the world, and established Indo-Aryan high castes in India, as well as the Kazarian and Ottoman Empires.
Within the last 38,000 years your paternal ancestor (P) lived in the Altai/Tuva or Gobi desert region where they branched off from the majority of Indigenous Americans, including those of both North and South America, who are mostly of the Q and R1b haplogroups.
Within the last 50,000 years our paternal ancestor (K-M9) lived in India along the Himalayan Foothills or Ganges Basin, where they branched off from the majority of Eurasian haplogroups, such as the East Asians (O) like the Han and Ming Dynasty, North Eurasians (N) such as the Zhou Dynasty, Rurikids, Gediminids and the Finnish, as well as Middle Eastern or Persian (L) such as Sayyid Ajjal and North African (T) Thomas Jefferson.
Within the last 60,000 years our paternal ancestor (F-M89) lived in the Indus Valley where they branched off from Ancient Europeans and Georgians (G) such as Joseph Stalin and King Richard III of England, Northern Europeans (I) such as Birger Jarl and the House of Hohenzollern (Kings of Prussia), Indians (H) and those who became the royal Jews (J) including King David, Jesus, the Prophet Mohammad and the Rothschilds.
Within the last 75,000 years our paternal ancestor (CF) lived at the Strait of Hormuz near the Horn of Africa, where your ancestors branched off from North East Asians (C), many of whom also colonized North America, particularly the Na-Dene people of North Western Canada, and produced such notables as Genghis Khan.
Within the last 100,000 years our paternal ancestor (CT) lived in North East Africa where they split off from North Africans (E) such as Ramsses III of Egypt, Napolean and Canaanite Jewish (E-M35) such as Albert Einstein and Hitler, as well as Central East Asians (D) such as indigenous Tibetans and the Emperors of Japan.
And within the last 300,000 years our paternal ancestor lived in West Africa (A) known as Y-DNA Adam that is in common with all extant homo sapien males, including Barrack Obama, recent president of the USA.
Within the last 700,000 years we have an ancestor that was in common with the Neanderthals and Denisovians whose DNA fragments still resides in most modern people, it is said we received DNA from the peoples of Mars and Maldek which had destroyed each other at the time, and their DNA was migrated to Earth by extraterrestrials. Within the last 10 million years our ancestors were chimpanzees, 60 million years ago they were tree mice (prosimians). And sometime within the last billion years we have a common ancestor with all multi cellular life on Earth, including plants and fungi.
So in a way you could say we are all one big family on this Earth.
In regards to the part extraterrestrials have played in Earth genetics, here is what Confederation of Planets says:

It is ironic to see how historically closely related people have often been at each others throats, such as the French and the English, the Ottomans and the Slavs, the Royal Jews, Jesus (Christians) and Muslims, Hitler and the Canaanite Jews, and as you may have heard amongst the Scottish clans as well.
It is unfortunate yet not entirely surprising for people are upset not truly by other people, but what they see of themselves in other people which they have not yet learned to forgive, love and accept. And those who are more closely related can often lend a better mirror to oneself than one who is more distantly related.
As you may know the Scottish Clans have had their own history of such animosity towards the mirrors. As mature spiritual beings, I hope we can remain calm when we see a reflection we do not like, and instead do the work within ourselves to forgive, love and be compassionate to ourselves and our reflections, it can make the world a better place.
If there is any message here, it is to love and be kind to yourself and your family, be they the Milnes or your extended relatives.
This includes not only the human ones, but the plants and animals as well. Perhaps you will help support bringing back the kind of sustainable lifestyles which the Romans destroyed, allowing people to have a greater diversity of foods, more sustainably, while living longer.
By setting a good example in your way of being you are bringing honour to your clan, your house, and the planet as a whole.
