Grey County Update: Sue Carleton Interview

Through you honourable Warden Matrosovs,

Councillor Carleton was generous enough with her time to give us an interview, including her lineage, accomplishments, ideas for housing, food security, education, healing and the economy within about 12 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PEKiXWXy8I

Coming from a long like of Mayors or Reeves as they used to be called, Mayor Sue Carleton helped lower staff turnover, saving taxpayer dollars and improving municipality cohesion. She also brought up the importance of education in the viability of a rural transition, such as when using cisterns, and the requisite agricultural and homesteading knowledge to succeed in a rural environment with minimal inputs.

It is notable that rainwater may contain whatever was on the roof, including leaf litter, and bird or animal waste, so it is best to filter it before storage to avoid buildup in the cistern, additionally before drinking it is good to have a multi stage reverse osmosis filter just in case some contaminants passed the first stage of filtration.

Mayor Carleton also mentioned how policing costs could be curtailed through inspiration of indigenous healing circles, and a good example for integrating into a local help system.

Next time will be interviewing Councillor Greig, Deputy Mayor of Owen Sound. Hope to have some better samples of an Owen Sound Dollar and perhaps even a Grey County Dollar by then.

Thanks,
